Sensitive Triacs
Sensitive Triacs
Data Sheets & Stock Check »A Sensitive Triac is a solid state AC bi-directional silicon switch that offers a direct interface to microprocessor drivers. They provide guaranteed gate trigger current levels in Quadrants I, II, III and IV of an AC current cycle. Gate triggering currents of 3 mA, 5 mA, 10 mA or 20 mA are offered. Sensitive gate triacs are capable of controlling AC load currents from 0.8 to 8 amps and are rated to withstand operating voltages of 400 to 600 volts. Surface Mount Sensitive Triacs are available in DO214 3L (Compak), SOT 223 and TO 252 packages. Thru-hole Sensitive Triacs are available in TO 92, TO 92WB, TO 220, TO 220 Iso, TO 220 Non-Iso and TO 251 packages. Sensitive Triacs are used in motor speed controls, heater controls and incandescent lighting controls. Typical applications include AC switching and phase control for temperature modulation controls (heating controls for blow dryers), lighting controls (dimmer switches), motor speed controls (power tools) and AC static switching relays. Littelfuse manufactures Sensitive Triacs.
