Diode
A Diode is a discreet, fast switching, semiconductor device that can respond to overvoltage events faster than most other types of circuit protection devices. It is a crowbar device that is useful for protecting against very fast and damaging voltage transients, such as lightning, inductive load switching and electrostatic discharge.TVS stands for discrete transient voltage suppression. They can be used in a wide variety of applicaions such as protecting I/O interfaces in telecommunication and industrial equipment, computers and consumer electronics. Unidirectional and Bidirectional polarities are available for most series. Reverse standoff voltages range from 5 to 530 volts.
Surface mount versions are available with power ratings from 200 watts to 5,000 watts.
Axial leaded versions are available from 400 watts to 30,000 watts.
High power AC line versions offer protection from 1kA to 30,000 kA.
An automotive version at 2,200 watts is also offered.
