Data Sheets & Stock Check »What is a 3AG fuse? The 3AG cartridge fuses are miniature glass electronic fuses. The 3AG fuse dimensions are a diameter of 1/4 inch and a length of 1-1/4 inches and are very common in North America. The 3AG designation stands for automotive glass and reflects its original design as an automotive fuse back in the 1930's. The 3AG fuse size is constructed with a glass body and is less expensive than the 3AB ceramic fuse. 3AG fuse ratings are typically provided at both 125 and 250 volts AC. The 3AG fuse type is offered in fast acting or time delay versions and can be ordered with or without axial leads. A pin indicator version that provides visual indication of a blown fuse or alarm circuit activation is also available. They are typically built in accordance with UL 248-14 and CSA C22.2/No. 248.14 standards. Fuses with these dimensions and construction type are also offered under the BSI - Britain and JIS - Japan standards.
