Carling Hydraulic Magnetic Circuit Breaker
A hydraulic magnetic circuit breaker is a mechanical circuit protection device. The main components are a coil, an iron core sealed in a tube filled with hydraulic fluid, a spring loaded actuator and two electrical contacts. When excessive current from a current overload runs through the device, the electromagnetic field in the coil is increased which moves the iron core through the tube and causes the spring loaded actuator to trip, separating the contacts and opening the circuit. Opening speed is determined by the viscosity or thickness of the hydraulic fluid.
Carling Technologies makes a complete line of hydraulic magnetic circuit breakers. Hydraulic magnetic circuit breakers are temperature stable and not adversely affected by temperature changes in the operating environment. The M Series of miniature hydraulic magnetic circuit breakers are designed for applications where space and front panel snap-in mounting are important. They are rated up to 30 amps. The MS Series is the military specification version with a rugged design for operation in harsh environments. The H Series meets IEC spacing requirements for international applications and are available with ratings up to 32 amps. The A and B Series are general purpose circuit breakers offering a compact design with current ratings of 0.02 to 50 amps. The C Series has current ratings up to 100 amps and offers a UL 489 Listed breaker in the smallest package. The D Series is designed for back panel Din Rail mounting and offers current ratings up to 50 amps. The G Series also offers Din Rail mounting with current ratings up to 63 amps. The L series has a low profile design that is well suited for the Telecom/Datacom power distribution and rack systems. The E Series is well suited for higher current (up to 100 amps) and voltage (600VAC and 125VDC) applications. The F Series is also designed for high current (up to 700 amps) applications in extremely hot or cold locations.
