Reed Sensors

Reed Sensors are designed to sense proximity, liquid level, liquid flow, speed, seat occupancy, rotational position and acceleration. A reed sensor is a reed switch packaged in an external housing for protection against environmental influences and to simplify mounting and connecting. Reed Sensors are designed with an integrated magnetic actuator or with a separate, matching magnetic actuator. Reed Sensors are offered in a variety of packages. The Firecracker package has a slim, cylindrical shape. The PCB mount package is suitable for printed circuit board applications. The Float package is designed for liquid-sensing applications. Vane sensors are packaged with a reed switch and an integrated magnet. It is typically used in applications with a moving metal part. The Seating Occupancy package includes a magnet and a reed switch and is available with a push-button or dome configuration for weight/load distribution. The Threaded Barrel package is available in English or metric threads and is easily mounted and adjusted. The Flange/Flat Pack sensor has a rectangular shape that is designed for mounting on a flat surface. The Lever Arm sensor has a clip frame and a lever arm that is designed for paper-path sensing and security system applications.
